Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard is one of Chablis's most revered producers, and this is top-quality Chablis in all but the name. The consistently high quality of the wines from this property is the result of great expertise together with a commitment to low yields and environmentally friendly viticultural methods. The Chardonnay grapes for this wine were grown on limestone slopes in the village of Saint-Bris, about five miles southwest of Chablis. Winemaker Frederic Gueguen left the wine unoaked but matured it briefly in tank to give the wine extra mineral richness. It shows a tangy yet rich-textured flavor profile, with elegant flinty, smoky hints and a long, refined finish.
