Founded twenty years ago by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne, at the time general manager and sommelier respectively of the John Ash & Co. restaurant in Santa Rosa, Kosta Browne has from the start been committed to the production of world-class Pinot Noir. Three years on, Dan and Michael partnered with local entrepreneurs Rick Markoff and Jim Costello, with Jim’s son Chris becoming actively involved in the running of the winery. The wines drew high scores from the critics beginning with the 2003 vintage, and Kosta Browne soon became a cult classic. This Russian River Valley blend is sourced from sixteen different vineyards; it offers ripe summer fruits on the nose and is intense and bold on the palate, with bright acidity and a soothing mouthfeel.
