This Cabernet comes to us from Heron Wines, the highly successful wine enterprise started in 1995 by Laely Heron. Laely’s first offering, back then, was a Merlot from the south of France and was an immediate success; she followed that with a red blend from Rioja and then a range of California wines, both red and white. Over the years that followed, wines in her portfolio found wide favor with sommeliers and customers alike. This Cab, with 10% Petit Verdot blended in, is sourced from a mix of vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford, Atlas Peak and Howell Mountain; supple and ripe on the palate, it has aromas of tobacco and spice, an elegant structure, and a pleaasant lingering finish.
