Marco Sara is a small (about 20 acres) family enterprise located in the town of Savorgnano del Torre, in the northwestern corridor of the Friuli Colli Orientali denomination, where the vineyards are surrounded by dense forests, with a dramatic backdrop of the Julian Alps. Marco, whose first commercial release was in 2003, is notably partial to Friulano (formerly Tocai Friulano and also known as Sauvignonasse), a white grape widely grown in the region. His version is fruit-forward, lemon-tinged, with hints of nuts and ripe melon and a long and savory mineral finish.
