With a family grape growing history that dates from 1886, Don Román Montaña founded the Marqués de Tomares winery in Rioja Alta in 1910. It remains a family operation today, in the hands of Don Román’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family owns more than 250 acres of vines, many of them more than 100 years old, spotted throughout Rioja Alta in Haro, Fuenmayor and the surrounding areas. A 90/10 blend of Tempranillo and Graciano aged in a combination of French and American oak, this Crianza stands out for its balance and aromas of red and black fruit, its freshness and elegance.
