The Medici Ermete Winery is located in Gaida, right on the Via Emilia in Emilia Romagna; very much a family enterprise, it is now in the hands of the fourth and fifth generation, Alberto Medici and his son Alessandro. The winery owns about 200 acres of vineyard spread among five estates, four in Reggio Emilia and one in Modena. The VAI Lambrusco is a 50/50 blend of Lambrusco Salamino and Lambrusco Marani from organically grown vines. Done entirely in stainless steel, it has vibrant aromas of violets and red fruits and is fresh, lively, and harmonious on the palate.
