Masterwines was started in France in 1990 by Mel and Janie Master; its main business then was sourcing great value wines from the Languedoc. Today the company produces wines in Italy, France, California, Washington, and Oregon and is a partnership with Winesellers, a national importing firm based in Chicago. Mont Gravet is a line of wines they created to feature lesser-known varietals from top vineyards and artisanal winemakers in Gascony and the Languedoc. Their rose is 100% Cinsault from vineyards located near the warm Mediterranean shoreline; it is wonderfully fresh and fruit-forward, with aromas and flavors of raspberries and blackberries and a long, flavorful finish.
