Monte Tondo is a small family estate located just a few miles from Verona, today run by the third generation GinoMangabosco and his daughter Marta. The winery is located within the Soave Classico region and so is known primarily for its white wines, but the family also recently began growing the traditional red grapes of Valpolicella, Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella. Aged five years in Slavonian oak and then six months in bottle, this Amarone, a blend of Corvina and Rondinella, is dense, rich and fruity, with with intense aromas of cherries and plums and hints of dark chocolate.
