Ostinato - Marsala Dolce NV (500ml)
Ostinato Marsala is produced by Baglio Baita Alagna, one of the few Marsala producers in Sicily that still own and work their own vineyards. Founded in the early 1940s by Giuseppe Alagna, the winery, in the hands of third-generation Ercole Alagna, now comprises 125 acres under vine, with plots in the Marsala, Marzara and Salemi communes; a mix of Grillo, Inzolia, and Catarratto, all are farmed organically without any irrigation. Alagna follows traditional winemaking methods, now rarely seen in the appellation, but has a lighter hand with the fortification process that allows for a greater expression of the wine’s terroir. Balanced and refined, this Dolce is produced from late harvest grapes and aged for more than a year in barrel.
