This Australian winery is known for producing wines that are fresh, easy-drinking, food-friendly, and easy on the wallet. The Point Ormond winery is located in the Grampians, in the northwestern part of Victoria, but grapes for their wines are sourced from several different regions. Their Shiraz and Sangiovese come from their home turf in the Grampains, but this Cabernet hails from the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The wine is signature Margaret River, with a nose of ripe cherries and raspberries backed by savory spices; to quote one critic, “power and poise are what Margaret River Cabs are all about and this has both in spades, and for an incredible bargain to boot.”
