The RGNY Winery (the RG stands for Rivero Gonzalez, the NY for New York) had its true beginnings in 1998 when the Rivero Gonzalez family planted their first vines in Parras, Coahuila, Mexico. They subsequently (2013 and 2015) opened retail wine store in Mexico City and in Parras. Building on their great success on their Mexican home ground, they moved north of the border in 2018, acquiring Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead, on the eastern reaches of Long Island, where they rapidly established themselves as valued members of the community. RGNY produces a full range of wines, both still and sparkling, including this Sparkling White, labeled “zero dosage” for “no additional sugar added to the final wine.” A 60/40 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this is a bright crisp sparkler with aromas of green apple and lively acidity on the palate.
