Rafael Midoir, representing the fifth generation in his family to make wine, took over the family estate in the heart of the Sologne region in 1997. The family is known for their exceptional Sancerres, but they also produce distinctive whites from their vineyards in the central Loire. “De Silex et Tuffau,” named for the two types of soil that predominate in the Touraine, clay limestone and flint, is crisp and refreshing, with bright acidity and flavors of lemon and green apple and a slight chalky finish.
