Located along the wine route of the South Tyrol, St, Michael Eppan is a cooperative founded in 1907. It today comprises 355 growers who farm 875 acres and its reputation as one of the best wineries in the region is based on its seamless blending of tradition and innovation. Their Pinot Grigio is an excellent example of the varietal: with a nose of pears, apples, floral and mineral notes, it is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, good structure and rich flavors of apples, pears, peaches and citrus. It is dry and smooth on the palate, and leaves a long, pleasing finish.
