Located in Oregon’s Dundee Hills region, what is today the Stoller Family Estate and Winery was founded in 1996 by Bill and Cathy Stoller. The property had been in the Stoller family since the 1920s and was at one time the largest turkey farm in the state. Bill and Cathy were more interested in wine than in turkeys, and so began by planting ten acres each of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Today theirs is the largest contiguous vineyard in the region, spanning 400 acres planted to ten varieties, all sustainably farmed. Melissa Burr, founding winemaker and still happily on the job, takes special pride in her Chardonnay, a graceful yet rich version of the grape with lemon, pear, and spice flavors that linger on a plush finish.
