Storm Point Wines are the creation of Australian winemaker Mick Craven and his South African wife Jeanine, who moved to Stellenbosch in 2011. Their principal label is Craven Wines, but they turned to vineyards in the Western Cape, mostly the Swartland region, to source grapes for their Storm Point wines, a Chenin Blanc and this red blend of Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. Matured in both tank and neutral barrels, the wine is a lively, zippy red sprinkled with some very serious notes. It has aromas of strawberry, blueberry and wild rose with ripe plum and bright berry flavors on the palate.
