Tapi, out of the Marlborough region of New Zealand, is one of three brands produced by the Altschwager Kenneally Company, the joint venture of two couples committed to small-batch wine production in two regions of southern Austalia as well as in Marlborough. The Tapi wines are named after the imperial Mt Tapuae-o-Uenuku, the snow-topped peak that rises abouve the Marlborough region. The Wairau Valley vineyard beneath the mountain is home to true cool-climate viticulture and winemaking, and half of the Altschwager Kenneally team. Theirs is classic Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, with aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit and plenty of refreshing acidity.
