Gernot and Heike Heinrich started their winery in the Burgenland region of Austria, on the northeast side of the lake called the Neusiedlersee, in 1990. Their intent from the start has been to produce age-worthy red wines, working initially with Blaufrankisch, but they have since extended their interest to different varieties and winemaking styles. Their Naked White is sourced from grapes grown on both sides of the Neusiedlersee; a blend primarily of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, along with some Gruner Veltliner, it has a vibrant and complex nose of citrus and stone fruit and is fresh and lively on the palate, with flavors of orchard fruit and a touch of salinity. Bottled unfiltered, so expect some cloudiness in the glass.
