Au Bon Climat's labels bear owner/winemaker Jim Clendenen's name, along with the words "the mind behind." There is indeed a mind behind these wines, and an ineffable palate as well: as Clendenen says, "Au Bon Climat wines are never made out of indifference - each wine is carefully handcrafted using grapes from the greatest vineyards in California's Central Coast region." This Pinot is a blend of grapes from six different Santa Barbara County vineyards. It is a well-balanced, nicely textured, brightly fruity wine with aromas and flavors of raspberries, strawberries and plums.
