DuMOL Wines is the joint effort of partners Kerry Murphy and Michael Verlander with partner/winemaker Andy Smith, who founded the winery in 1996; their estate vineyard is in Sonoma’s Green Valley but they also source in grapes from other growers in the Russian River Valley, Carneros, and the Sonoma Coast. Most of DuMOL’s bottlings are single-vineyard offerings, but this one of a few exceptions to that rule. From a vintage that featured an unusually long growing season that provided for exceptional flavor intensity, this is a classic and savory Pinot with great intensity and depth.
