The Colin family have been grapegrowers for many generations, dating back to at least 1989, but it was only in 1997 that the dynamic duo of brothers Richard and Romain Colin withdrew from the local co-operative system to become independent grower-producers, investing heavily in new technology along the way. Combining this technology with their passion for traditional methods of tending vines and crafting wines, their champagnes are marked by finesse and elegance, and are typical of the Côte des Blancs’ greatest vineyards. Theirs are Chardonnay-dominated, and two-thirds of their thirty acres of vineyards are situated in Grand Cru and Premier Cru rated villages in the Côte des Blancs. This “Castille” is 100% Chardonnay from the Bergere-les-Vertus vineyard; with delicate aromas of flower blossoms and summer fruits, it is lively and gracious, with noticeable minerality.
