Cristom Vineyards was founded in 1992 in Oregon’s Willamette Valley by Paul Gerrie and his wife Eileen. It is today in the hands of second-generation winegrower and owner Tom Gerrie and winemaker Steve Doerner who produce elegant, dynamic Pinot Noirs recognizable by their hallmark style of whole-cluster fermentation using only native yeasts. Cristom pretty much focuses on single-vineyard bottlings, but this offering is their entry-level Pinot, a blend of grapes from some of their top vineyards augmented with fruit from some of their partner growers in Dundee and Ribbon Ridge. This is a vibrant, ruby-hued Pinot with aromas of crushed cranberries and black plums, round and elegant on the palate.
