Located in Sablet, in the foothills of the Montmirail Mountains, Du Terme is the property of a father-daughter team, Anne-Marie and Roland Gaudin. Anne-Marie earned her oenology degree in Macon in 1987 and has been winemaker here ever since. Roland acquired his first vines in Sablet some forty years ago, and today the domaine comprises, in addition, vineyards in Gigondas and Vacqueyras as well, for a total of some 65 acres. Roland continues to consult on all aspects of the winemaking process, but also serves as mayor of the town of Gigondas. Anne-Marie’s Cotes du Rhone is an 80/20 blend of Grenache and Syrah from vines that are, on average, 35 years old, fermented in concrete and then aged first in stainless steel and then in enameled vats. This is a vibrantly fruity Cotes du Rhone, with balanced acidity and a bright clean finish.
