Located in Riquewihr, the heart of winemaking country in Alsace’s Haut-Rhin region, Dopff & Irion was created with the marriage of two of Alsace’s wine families, the Irions and the Dopffs, which can both trace their winemaking roots to the 16th century. That “marriage” took place only in 1945, however, and so Dopf & Irion is considered “young” among Alsace’s many centuries-old estates. Their sparkling rose is made entirely of Pinot Noir; with plenty of fresh apple and red fruit flavors, this is a llight, bright wine that is posed and stylish in a fine aperitif style.
