The Langlois-Chateau estate began life in 1885 as Maison Delandes; in 1912 Edouard Langlois and his wife, Jeanne Chateau took over the estate, vineyards and cellars included, and renamed it Maison Langlois-Chateau. The Jacques Bollinger Family Estate acquired a majority stake in the house in 1973. Langlois-Chateau today comprises some 240 acres of vineyards with wine estates in two separate locations, Saumur and Saumur-Champigny and a chateau in Sancerre, and their line of six different Cremants de Loire is prodiced in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent, near Saumur. This Brut Rose is a roughly 60/40 blend of Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir; aged 18 months on the lees in bottle, it is fruit-forward, fresh and lively, with hints of resh peaches on the nose and a long finish.
