David Potter is a leading figure within the “new guard” on the Santa Barbara wine scene. He worked as assistant winemaker at Fess Parker for several years and continues there today as Director of Winemaking Operations. He started carving his own niche, however, back in 2007, when he launched his first brand, Municipal Winemakers, following that in 2013 with Goodland Wines and in 2015 with Potek Winery, which includes the Nowadays line. The Nowadays wines have been described as “wine as it was made in antiquity,” unfiltered and chemical-free, wines that say “take me as I am.” The result here is a light-bodied Pinot with refreshing notes of red currants and raspberries, slightly funky and juicy on the finish.
