Do you want five-star names? Try this: Tenuta di Biserno, located in western Tuscany, on the coast of the Upper Maremma, is the project of Marchese Lodovico Antinori, creator of Ornellaia and Masseto; his brother, Marchese Piero Antinori, who invented the Super Tuscan category forty years ago with Tignanello; and legendary oenologist Michel Rolland. Insoglio del Cinghiale is produced by the Biserno team at a neighboring estate, Campo di Sasso, and the wine is a classic Bordeaux mix of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, with a sizable portion (32%) of Syrah blended in. With a light to medium rich body, with a fine structure and balance, it has a medium-intense nose of dark fruits, blackberries, some floral notes, and a hint of spicy oak in the background.
