Azienda Agricola Ventolaio, a small property in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, has been in the hands of the Fanti family for four generations. It is owned today by Luigi Fanti and his wife Maria Assunta but now run by their sons Baldassare and Manuele. Together they farm 35 acres of vines, all Sangiovese Grosso. This is an outstanding Brunello from an outstanding Brunello vintage: medium-bodied but full and rich, it has aromas and flavors of currants, raspberries and pomegranate, with lightly extracted tannins and a warm finish.
