Azienda Agricola Ventolaio, a small property in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, has been in the hands of the Fanti family for four generations. It is owned today by Luigi Fanti and his wife Maria Assunta but now run by their sons Baldassare and Manuele. Together they farm 35 acres of vines, all Sangiovese Grosso. Their Rosso, generally made from the estate’s younger vines, has aromas of fresh red fruits, with subtle floral notes and hints of spice; on the palate, it is medium-bodied with balanced acidity, smooth tannins, and a clean finish.
