After Kat Hantas had her second child, she was advised to give up wine as her drink of choice. She started playing around with tequila, infusing it with a variety of different natural ingredients. After some years of experimenting, and then partnering with a tequila distillery in Jalisco, in 2019 she came up with 21 Seeds. Kat’s sister and best friend joined her as partner, and the tequila distillery is largely female-owned and –run, so their hashtag became “girlscalltheshots.” The Grapefruit Hibiscus Blanco, infused with grapefruit juice, hibisucus, and other natural flavors, smells of grapefruit and is citrus-forward without being sugary.
