Amoro de Vino is an all-female-operation located in the Basque region of northeastern Spain, dedicated to the creation and production of an exceptional line of organic aperitifs. Their Picon Vasco is an amaro-like fortified wine made using a process that is similar to that for making vemouth: the base wine is macerated with several roots, herbs, and botanicals, including gentian root, citrus peels, rhubarb, and notes of saffron. The blend delivers a medium-bodied profile, balancing sweetness and mild bitterness, with notes of earth, menthol, pine, cocoa, and baking spices.
