Kentucky master distiller Lincoln Henderson, who died in 2013, was patriarch of his family and the creative genius behind the Angel’s Envy line of spirits. Previously he had helped create several other brands, including Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack and Woodford Reserve, but he considered Angel’s Envy the culmination of his career, the result of his experimentation with bourbon finished in barrels previously used for sherry, rum, tequila, brandy and port. This is a welcoming, easygoing bourbon, richly textured, silky and well rounded, with ripe berry fruit, candied tangerine, and light toffee.
