The first vodka to be made in Brooklyn since Prohibition was Brooklyn Republic, the work of a troika of resident Brooklyn vodka lovers: Gary Shokin, who came to New York from Lithuania some 30 years ago; his daughter Kary Laskin, born and raised in Brooklyn; and Mark Krupkin, originally from Latvia. From that beginning developed a full line of spirits (and a few wines as well) under the “Gary’s Good” banner. This is the vodka, a budget-friendly vodka you’ll actually want to drink. It is is produced from the finest quality American corn using a four-step pure mineral filtration process to create superior crystal transparency and taste.
