Though Herbsaint is a French term for wormwood, you won't find any in this anise-based absinthe substitute. First produced in New Orleans following the end of prohibition, it was originally offered as a 120 or 100 proof liquor. Today you can enjoy a 90 proof option or the new 100 proof original recipe. This is a vital component for any serious Sazerac cocktail.
