Founded in 2012 by (among others) Grisa Soba, Flaviar is a highly successful online spirits tasting club, with a subscription service that helps members discover new products through sample tasting packs. Building on their success with direct-to-consumer sales, the folks at Flaviar joined forces with Steve Luttman of Leblon fame and Mario Mazza of Five and 20 Distilling to create their own brand, Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye, using crowdfunding to give consumers the opportunity to invest and become co-owners of the top brand. Hercules Mulligan is part of the RTF revolution, a ready-to-drink cocktail in a bottle. Named for a little known tailor and spy in the American Revolution (and a character in Hamilton) and based on a unique recipe from the period, it is a blend of three different rums, three different ryes, fresh organic ginger from Brooklyn, and bitters; a sipper rather than a quaffer, it offers a range of flavors with a significantly spicy profile.
