Founded in 2010 by Colin Spoelman and David Haskell, Kings County Distillery is New York’s first legal distillery since Prohibition. It is located in the 115-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Kings County makes hand-crafted whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine. The Peated Bourbon is a whiskey that conforms to the American requirements for bourbon but is made with malted barley that has been exposed to peat smoke, a practice common in Scotch whiskies. The result is unmistakably bourbon, while complimentary notes of barbecue and campfire smoke linger long after the sip.
