Located on the Cider Route in Normandy, in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, this is a solid family estate that dates from 1865. Its 75 acres of orchards are home to more than 25 different varieties of apples and pears from which they produce a range of orchard-fruit-based products, including cider, Calvados, and this pommeau, an aperitif traditional in the region made by blending apple brandy (Calvados) with fresh-pressed apple juice (roughly two-thirds juice and one-third brandy). Aged 3-4 years in oak barrels, it is fruity and full-bodied, rich and warm, with subtle aromas of dried fruit, almonds, and honey.
