Artisanal distillers in Alameda California since 1982, St. George has grown from a one-man operation to a diverse operation with a diverse team making a broad range of craft spirits, under the direction of Master Distiller Lance Winters. St. George was founded by Jörg Rupf, whose family had generations of distilling experience in the Black Forest of Germany. Considered a living legend in the craft spirits world, he is credited, in his efforts at St. George, with laying the groundwork for the modern American artisanal distillation movement. Their Valley Gin is all about aromatics and elegance: with well over twenty different botanicals, the focus here is on fruit and flowers sourced from the Lindcove Ranch, a family farm specializing in citrus in California’s Central Valley. With a base spirit distilled from grain, this gin explodes with flloral and citrus brightness
