Located a bit more than twenty miles south of Strasbourg on the Route du Vin d'Alsace, this is a fine estate founded in 1896 by the Willm family; today they produce a wide selection of top-flight Alsace wines as well as a range of classic eaux-de-vie, including this cassis. Like their other eaux-de-vie, the Creme de Cassis is made from fruit from their own orchards, in this case black currants; it captures the pure flavors of the fruit, enhanced by a slightly tangy finish.
