This is a family-owned estate in Vinsobres, in the Rhone, spanning 200 acres. Originally olive growers, the Autrands reinvented themselves after the disastrous frost of 1956, turning to viticulture instead. The estate is now run by third-generation Christine Autrand, who became, in 2002, one of the first female winemakers in the region, since joined by her son Aurélien and daughter-in-law Stephanie, both talented winemakers. Their Cotes du Rhone features an expressive nose full of juicy black fruit and subtle spices; on the palate the wine is concentrated and complex, well balanced, with rounded tannins.
