This iconic Champagne house was founded by wine trader Charles Moet in Epernay in 1743; it was renamed Moet et Chandon in 1833 after Pierre-Gabriele Chandon de Briailles joined the company as a partner of Jean-Remy Moët, Claude Moët's grandson. Today, as co-owner of LVMH, the company owns some 2900 acres of vineyards and annually produces approximately 28,000,000 bottles of champagne. A blend primarily of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with a smaller percentage of Chardonnay blended in, this is a well-knit rosé, with a plsuh texture balanced by crisp acidity, flavors of raspberry, orange peel and ginger, and a hint of smoke on the finish.
