The Aberlour Distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland’s premier whisky-making region. No fewer than half of the country’s malt distilleries are found in Speyside, which is renowned for producing whiskies of subtle depth and elegance. The distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming. who shrewdly built it on the site of St Drostan's Well, thus securing forever this priceless source of pure spring water Greater age adds body and a rich raisin character to Aberlour’s characteristic spiciness. Aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, this 18-year has aromas of dried apricots and fresh oranges with a hint of smoke; there is a touch of sweetness on the palate, with soft vanilla and honey notes, and a long, balanced finish.
